Dan Wyand, PT
Dan graduated from the University of Vermont in 1975 with a degree in Physical Therapy and has continued his training with an emphasis on extremity and spinal manual therapy techniques.
In 1981, Dan established Dan Wyand, P.T. & Associates, PLLC, and has developed the practice to include PTs, PTAs, ATCs, OTs and personal trainers. In addition to managing the practice, Dan remains a full-time clinician, specializing in the treatment of orthopedic injuries of the spine and extremities.
Dan is active in the Vermont American Physical Therapy Association in several capacities, including his current position as the Northeast District Chairperson and past president of NEAHEC (Northeast Area Health Education Center). He is also the Chairperson for the Professional Advisory Committee of Caledonia Home Health & Hospice and is a Corporator at N.V.R.H.
Dan remains active through golf, tennis, biking and hiking throughout the Northeast Kingdom.
Christine Fournier PT, CLT
Physical Therapist & Certified Lymphedema Therapist
Christine grew up in the Northeast Kingdom attending Lyndon Institute and the University of Vermont, receiving her degree in Physical Therapy in 1994.
She lived in San Francisco, California for 20 years working in hospitals and skilled nursing facilities before returning to the Kingdom in 2013 to be closer to her family.
Christine is the inpatient PT at NVRH and specializes in assisting patients in recovery from Cancer and in management of Lymphedema.
She enjoys spending quality time with her husband, daughters and pets experiencing the natural lifestyle Vermont has to offer.
Jennifer E. Hemond, MPT
Jennifer has been employed as a Physical Therapist at our clinic since June, 2007. She graduated from Lyndon State College in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science and from the University of Vermont in 2007 with a Master’s in Physical Therapy (MPT). Jennifer continues to further her education and develop her skills through orthopedic evaluation and manual therapy courses. She promotes utilization of aquatic therapy and oversees the aquatic program offered by Dan Wyand, P.T. & Associates.
Jennifer takes great pride in her family, which has recently grown with the addition of her daughter. She also enjoys caring for her home, spending time with friends, running and staying active.
Mike Matteis, PT, DPT
Mike received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2012 from the University of St. Augustine with a concentration in Manual Therapy. Mike’s 10+ years of experience have been concentrated on outpatient orthopedics, specializing in manual therapy and sports medicine. Mike loves his profession because he gets such satisfaction from assisting his patients in achieving their greatest rehab potential.
Mike is originally from the Northeast Kingdom and is proud to call it his home. His interests include spending time with his family, golf, ice hockey and outdoor activities. He spends much of his free time coaching youth ice hockey and baseball in the community. He serves as a board member for the Lyndon Area Sports Association and the Lyndon Institute Alumni Association.
Sara Stinson, PT, DPT
Sara graduated from the University of Vermont in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and from Franklin Pierce University in 2009 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT). She has been employed with us since 2009 and has completed several advanced courses in manual therapy during that time.
Sara lives in Danville with her husband and their two children. She enjoys biking, gardening and spending time with her family.
Dan Wheeler, PT, DPT
Dan joined the staff in the fall of 2013 after graduating from the University of Vermont with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. He is originally from Lyndonville and a former Lyndon Institute graduate where he played football and competed in track and field. As an undergraduate at UVM Dan was a 2-time Captain of the Varsity track and field program. Now as a physical therapist, Dan tries to treat the body in a holistic approach by looking through the entire kinetic chain and not just the joint or area with dysfunction. He enjoys treating patients on all ends of the spectrum from the high school athlete, to the elderly individual with arthritis and allowing each person to achieve their functional goals.
His interests outside of the clinic include hiking, snowshoeing, rock climbing and he is an avid hunter and fisherman. Dan lives in Lyndon with his wife, Angela, and their two children.
Kelly Wilkins, MPT
Kelly has been employed at Dan Wyand, P.T. & Associates since December 2003. She graduated from the University of New England in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science and went on to complete her Master’s in Physical Therapy in 2003. She has continued her education through multiple courses geared towards women’s health, including Pregnancy & Postpartum, Beyond Kegels I and II and Female Pelvic Floor Dysfunction. She has also received training in various other manual therapy techniques.
Cathy Carcoba Gifford, OTR
Cathy graduated from University of New England in 1992. She spent 5 years in Arizona before returning to Vermont where she worked for 15 years in pediatrics. Over the years she has worked as an Occupational Therapist in a variety of settings including home health services, skilled nursing facilities and hospital settings. Her favorite area of expertise is working with Geriatrics/Elder Adults.
Cathy lives with her two children in the Northeast Kingdom and enjoys horses and outdoor activities.
Physical Therapist Assistants
Lyndsay Beattie, PTA
Lyndsay has been employed by Dan Wyand PT & Associates since 2009. She started her career in the clinic as a personal trainer, but recently earned a promotion to a physical therapy assistant after graduating from River Valley Community College, in Claremont, NH, in May of 2013 with an Associate’s degree in Allied Health Science. She also has a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a concentration in strength and conditioning, and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, both from Lyndon State College.
She enjoys running and spending time with her family.
Megan Dyer, PTA
Megan has been employed as a Physical Therapy Assistant at Dan Wyand, P.T. & Associates since October, 2005. She graduated from River Valley College in 2004 with an Associate’s degree in Allied Health Science. Her clinical interests include lymphedema and pulmonary rehabilitation.
Megan’s hobbies include hiking, reading and snowshoeing.
Susan Pray-Glodgett, PTA, CMT
Susan has been employed with Dan Wyand, PT & Associates since receiving her Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from New Hampshire Vocational Technical College in May of 1989. In 2005 she was certified in Cranial Sacral Therapy Techniques through the Upledger Institute, Inc. Susan also completed massage therapy training at the Wellness Massage Center and Institute in St. Albans, VT becoming a certified massage therapist in December 2013. Her love for the geriatric population and interest in women’s wellness issues are driving forces for her ongoing continued education.
A native of northeastern Vermont, Susan enjoys spending time with family, gardening and being outdoors.
Renee Ignjatovic, PTA
Renee earned her Associate’s Degree from Hesser College in 1999 and is a Physical Therapy Assistant. She assists the Physical Therapists in treating various orthopedic conditions, the work conditioning program, wound care and therapeutic massage.
Renee enjoys exercising, gymnastics and spending time with her family.
Sarah Langmaid, PTA
Sarah has been employed by Dan Wyand P.T. & Associates since May 2016, starting her career in the clinic as a Rehab Aide. She recently earned a promotion as a Physical Therapist Assistant, after graduating from River Valley Community College in May of 2016 with an Associate of Science in Allied Health. She also earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine and Health Sciences from Norwich University.
Sarah works as the inpatient PTA at NVRH where she specializes in orthopedics and working with the geriatric population.
She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, downhill skiing, and kayaking.
Bud Courser, AT/Rehab Assistant
Bud joined Dan Wyand, P.T. & Associates in 1993. He has served as clinical manager, rehab assistant and was instrumental in starting the pool therapy program. Bud graduated from Lyndon State College with a Bachelor of Science in Science and Physical education and served as an athletic trainer and teacher on the secondary level for 42 years. He has continued his education in sports medicine at Ithaca College, University of Vermont and Maine Maritime Academy. Bud is a National Arthritis and Fitness Instructor.
Bud enjoys time with his wife and son who attends Unity College in Maine. He especially enjoys working with people of all ages through fitness, exercise and rehab.
Ryan Farley, ATC, CEAS-1
Ryan graduated from Lyndon State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Medicine, with a concentration on Athletic Training, in 2002. He is a certified, licensed Athletic Trainer and has been working with us since 2002. Along with treating patients, Ryan fabricates splints and orthotics and designs exercise programs for patients in the outpatient setting. He is also contracted with a local high school, providing game coverage for soccer and basketball. Ryan provides sports clinic evaluations and treatment for athletes in the surrounding communities.
One of Ryan’s greatest passions is coaching baseball. He is very active in the community, coaching youth and as the head baseball coach at LSC from 2005-2011. There is no greater satisfaction for Ryan than seeing patients and athletes with injuries overcome adversity and return to a healthy, happy lifestyle.
Physical Therapy Aides
Brigitte is a Physical Therapy Aide at Dan Wyand, P.T. & Associates and has been with the business since 1985. She graduated from Lyndon State College with a BS degree in Physical Education with a concentration in teaching K-12th grade.
A native of the Northeast Kingdom, Brigitte enjoys gardening, golfing, reading and spending time with her family.
Tiffany is a Physical Therapy Aide at Dan Wyand PT & Associates. She is the smiling face assisting our clients during their work outs in the gym, and supervising our independent exercisers. Tiff joined the physical therapy team in the spring of 2013. She graduated from Lyndon State College with a BS in Exercise Science with a concentration in pre-professional Physical Therapy.
Tiffany enjoys staying active and spending time with her family.
Melody graduated from Fanny Allen School of Nursing in 1966. She has worked for over 16 years as a Physical Therapy Aide in our clinic. Melody received her Certification in Modalities from Lyndon State College. She assists patients in the gym and performs various functions in the clinic.
Melody enjoys singing, traveling to see her grandchildren in Washington, D.C. and shopping.
Director of Human Resources
Kristin works as the Director of Human Resources at Dan Wyand, P.T. & Associates. Originally from Danville, she returned to the area recently after spending several years in Virginia where she worked as a Conference Manager in the banking industry.
In her free time, Kristin enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, reading and spending time outdoors.
Dorene has been with Dan Wyand, P.T. & Associates over 25 years! As Office Manager, her responsibilities range from scheduling patients, medical transcribing and managing the front desk staff. Because of Dorene’s extensive history with the practice, she is relied on heavily to answer billing, co-pay and patient questions. With her energetic and friendly personality, Dorene strives to make everyone’s experience at Dan Wyand, P.T. & Associates a pleasant one. You are sure to see her smiling face greet you as you enter the clinic.
Dorene is a life-long resident of St. Johnsbury and has strong ties to the community. She is active in local fundraisers such as the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and is willing to assist the community in any way she can. Dorene enjoys spending her free time with her 2 daughters and recently became a grandmother of a beautiful baby girl. When not hanging out with her family, she spends her free time going on walks, beaching it when weather permits, and spending time with her dog Gizmo.
Gail has been employed by Dan Wyand, P.T. & Associates since July, 1994. She is a secretary and receptionist and is a certified patient account technician.
In her spare time, Gail enjoys spending time with her family and her two dogs. She also loves traveling and shopping.
Felicia was born in Massachusetts and moved to Peacham in 2005. After graduating from the St. Johnsbury Academy in 2008 she began working at the St. Johnsbury Animal Hospital where she remained until joining our team in 2014 as a front office secretary. Earlier in 2014 she received certification in coding and transcription. Felicia lives in Walden with her boyfriend and their dog, Jack. She has a love for animals and in her spare time she likes to run, hike, garden and study photography.
Carol Thomas, Transcriptionist
Carol is a native of the NEK, graduating from St. Johnsbury Academy and attending both Lyndon State College and the University of Vermont. She has been employed at Dan Wyand, PT & Associates since December 2016. She worked in the banking and finance industry for over 15 years then changed her professional course to healthcare in 2005 as a medical transcriptionist and secretary. She is a Cub Scout and a Girl Scout volunteer and is an active football mom and dance mom. She lives locally with her husband and two children. She enjoys camping, fishing, crafting, and spending time with her family.
